• Distribution

This crocodile is found in the South of Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia

• Habitat

They live in lakes and swamps.

• Behaviour

The crocodile is mainly active during the summer, in the winter they just lay in the water and do not move, only on a sunny winter day they crawl up to ground for a sun bathing. An adult can weigh up to 60 kg.
In the wild they eat fish, crabs, snails and all kind of small mammals. In Hanoi Zoo they are fed fish, duck and all kind of of other meat.

The breeding season is in the summer. They reach their sexual maturity at an age of five years. The female lay 15 to 26 eggs, which can incubate for 75 to 85 days, what depends on the environmental temperature. The female do not lay on the eggs, she only protect the eggs. The new born are 200 to 300 mm tall.
